Our online Accounting Software, Kashflow, is constantly being improved. Sometimes the improvements are obvious like the recent changes to the entry screens for sales and purchase invoices. Other times the changes to Kashflow are in the background and you may not realise that there’s a new option that might be useful for you.
Kashflow publish the changelog here. You can also sign up to receive notifications of changes via email, rss feeds or twitter.
For today, I have copied the change notices from the Kashflow changelog for some of the most recent changes.
Improvements to Customer and Supplier pages 2nd August, 2010
The Customer and Supplier pages (where you view and edit details of your customers and suppliers) were starting to get a little crowded due to the amount of information shown. We also weren’t happy with the way it presented to you the list of past purchases/sales for the supplier/customer.
So those pages have been overhauled and also divided into sections. There are tabs across the top of the page to switch between the sections. If you don’t like this new design then you can revert back to the old layout of having all of the data on one long page. To do this you just go to Settings -> Advanced Settings and un-tick the box that says “Tab Customer Pages”
General Look and Feel Improvements 2nd August, 2010
We’ve modernised some of the design of pages within KashFlow, especially those under the Settings section.
All text boxes within the system now look a little more pleasing to the eye than they used to.
Defaulting Purchases to Paid 2nd August, 2010
Lots of our customers only enter their purchases (“Receipts”) once they’ve paid them.
So to save you an extra click we’ve added an option to always default new receipts to paid.
Go to Settings ->Purchase Options and enable the relevant option.
You’ll then see that when you add a new receipt, the tick box to say it’s paid is automatically ticked for you. You can of course un-tick it if you want to
Custom Fields for Customers 2nd August, 2010
For some time now you’ve had the ability to add your own custom fields to customer records.
However, we realised a lot of our customers didn’t know about this option.
So we’ve now made it more obvious and you’ll find an icon for it under the Settings tab
Email Templates for Statements 2nd August, 2010
A while ago we introduced Email Templates for use with emailing invoices to your customers.
We’ve now introduced templates for emailing Statements too.
You have a default statement template in Settings -> Email Templates which can be changed and saved from there or when you are emailing a statement to your customers or suppliers
